How do I know the buyer I select is trustworthy?
Every buyer featured on SellCell goes through a rigorous background check prior to being listed on our site. These checks include trading performance, financial responsiveness and also customer satisfaction checks. Part of this background check looks at customer experience. For every buyer, we look at the major review sites (BBB, Trustpilot, Reseller Ratings, Shopper Approved, Reviews.io etc.) and this gives us an independent overview of how the buyer performs. We also include this information in our price comparison so you can see for yourself how they rate. So rest assured, when you choose a buyer you can have peace of mind that they are a trustworthy company.
What happens to my phone when I send it to the recycler?
In the majority of cases cell phones can be resold. Most are resold in the US and some are sent to Asia, Africa and India.
Many phones are refurbished, restoring a phone to 100% working order, before being resold. If a phone cannot be repaired, then it is classified as ‘Beyond Economical Repair’.
Phones that are beyond economical repair are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
To learn more about the process, take a look at our in-depth guide to cell phone recycling which answers this question in a lot more detail.
